Configuring Netscape Messenger
The
following is a step-by-step procedure for configuring your e-mail
account for use with Netscape Messenger. Your screens may vary slightly
depending on the version you are currently using. You must use the
information provided to you when you signed up.
1.
Open Netscape Messenger.
2. Select the Edit menu at the top of the window.
3. Select Preferences.
4. Select Mail & Groups from the menu to the left. It
may be necessary to click
on the (+) sign in order to reveal the sub-groups.
5. Select Identity.
6.
Enter your real name into the 'Your Name' field, and enter your
email address youraddress@Eagles-Net.org
into the 'Email Address' field.
7. Select
Mail Server from the menu to the left.
8.
Enter the 'Mail server user name' as the first part of your email
address to the left of the @ symbol.
9. In
the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' field enter in the SMTP server
you were assigned at signup.
10. In the 'Incoming mail server' field type in Mail.Eagles-Net.org.
11.
Make sure the mail server type is set to POP3.
12.
Click OK
Your
Netscape Communicator/Netscape Messenger is now configured to send
and receive email.
